The Warmbier family lived in New Dorp Beach, Staten Island for the last 11 years until last Monday when they lost their home and all of their belongings to Hurricane Sandy.
Ed (45) and Alice (46) Warmbier have been married for 18 years and have two sons: Edward, a senior at New Dorp High School and Michael a 7th grader at I.S.2. They also have a Golden Retriever named Sandy (yes, it is sad but true). Ed has been working in the perfume industry making perfume and other scents for over 20 years and Alice is a receptionist at a doctor's office. Ed likes football and baseball. He played for many years on softball leagues and bowling leagues around Staten Island. He enjoys playing chess with his children. Alice enjoys reading and watching sports and playing games with her children. Edward is in the Virtual Enterprises program at school, where he is learning to run every aspect of a business from the accounting to the stocking of shelves. He enjoys playing handball, music, chess and video games. After graduation he would like to one day run his own business. Michael was born with cleft lip and palate, he has endured many surgeries, but has a great outlook about what he has been through. There are still procedures and therapies ahead for him. He is interested in computers and how they work. Also he enjoys studying art and likes to sketch. Michael loves playing video games online.
